Literature Text

Walking along on a dreary path,
Feeling so eerie, feeling a cold
Shiver down my spine, so I laugh.
Glancing slowly at the names so bold.
Starting to feel the spirits wrath,
Like these graves were patrolled.
Spirits moving me towards the name Mcgrath.
Moving faster towards the name, controlled.

Why are they taking me here?
I don't know this name.
Starting to feel fear.
Tired of playing this guessing game.
Suddenly I stop and I feel a tear.
Thinking this was lame,
Wishing this feeling would disappear.

Slowly I sit down,
Reading the name and dates.
I run my fingers over the name and frown.
The spirits start to translate.
This person must've drown,
While she was on a date.
She was wearing a beautiful evening gown.
The man she was with was filled with hate.
First she was rubbed down,
Then she was raped.

I start to cry,
As these images are shown to me.
I ask the spirits, "why?",
As she falls into the deep blue sea.
Feeling helpless as I sigh.
She got nothing, not even a plea.
I ask, "Why did she have to die?"
It should've been me.
This is not a true poem. I wrote it from the feelings I've had when walking through graveyards...I make up stories about the many diff. people. I'm a weirdo I know, but when your grandma lives in the middle of nowheresville it's oddly fun.
